Ouija Boards and Suicide (Ouija Boards Gone Wrong) – Dark Ouija Board Stories

The Ouija board is without doubt the most notorious of all games. Thought by many to be a means of communication with the spirit realms, the devils oracle is mocked by some, revered by others, and is a constant source of fascination, fear and curiosity.
The internet is overflowing with tales of the misery caused by those who dared to dabble with this, the un-holiest of games. There are rules passed down through the generations that if observed correctly are believed to protect the Ouija board player from contact with negative entities and possible possession, but for those who play uninformed, or for those unlucky enough to contact something powerful enough that normal rules no longer apply, the Ouija board is a game that can push people close to the edge, and occasionally over it.

Ouija Boards Gone Wrong – Dark Ouija Board Stories
With regards to playing the Ouija board and it’s ability to destroy people it’s not always the ‘Demons’ that get to you, at least not in terms of physical attacks, etc. but the effects of playing the game itself on your emotional well being, caused by addiction to playing the Ouija board, or stress caused by messages received via the board.
Haley a 13 year old girl I came across on the internet told of ‘getting hooked’ on the Ouija board, of turning her back on all her friends, and closing off to everybody around her having started to dabble with the Ouija board. She formed a relationship with an entity through the talking board called ‘Stu’ who she would speak to everyday, Stu told Haley many things, some true, some not.
Haley eventually asked the question of ‘Stu’ that so many do, ‘when will I die?’ to which Stu replied ‘14’. Being as Haley was already 13 and only 3 months short of her 14th birthday this obviously caused Haley a huge amount of concern, and shortly after she attempted to commit suicide. Luckily thanks to friends of Haley’s finding her and getting help (not least of which was when they later destroyed her Ouija board) Haley was taken care of, and never played with the Ouija board again.
Haley’s Story of a Ouija board gone wrong demonstrates the trouble with knowing too much, the power of self-fulfilling prophecies, and the dangers of playing with the Ouija board.

Real Demonic Possession from Ouija Board

Ouija Boards Gone Wrong – Murder and Attempted Suicide
15 February 2001
Controlled by Demons unleashed through use of the Ouija board ‘Carol Sue Elvaker’ of Minco killed her son-in-law then herded her grandchildren into her car and attempted to kill them all by driving head on into a road sign at speed. After her failure to complete this Carol Sue vaulted a barrier, tore of her clothes and despite having two broken ankles ran off into the forest. She was later caught and charged with first-degree murder.*
Relatives told police that Elvaker did not have a history of mental illness or odd behavior.
A stark reminder of the possible outcome when playing with a Ouija board goes wrong.
Ouija Boards Gone Wrong - William Fuld - Suicide?
The most notorious suicide story associated with the Ouija board has to be that of ‘William Fuld’, whilst not the inventor of the Oujia board William Fuld was the man responsible for thrusting the Ouija board out of relative obscurity and turning it into the household name it is today.
Having re-invented the Ouija board and successfully marketed and sold it in greater numbers than ever before some people believe that the Ouija board was responsible for his untimely demise.  During his career William Fuld often claimed that it was the Ouija board itself that had guided his business decisions and that it had been at least partly responsible for his achievements and successes, but in 1927 William Fuld ‘fell’ from the roof of the factory in which his Ouija boards were produced, with many suggesting that it had been no accident, but suicide, and perhaps another decision guided by the forces harnessed within the devils oracle.
Should I play with the Ouija board?
To sum up here's part of a message I received from a doctor the other day:
'Ouija boards may be marketed and sold for toys, but they are not. Spirits are summoned by dabblers that should never be summoned. I have heard stories of people who were so freaked out by what happened with a ouija board they went insane. And then committed suicide. Ouija board can be very powerful ju ju depending on whose hands are touching the planchette. I don't know of a single good thing ever coming from a Ouija Board. I don't advise using them following any set of rules'.
But ultimately the decision to play or not, can only be yours.

  1. To be honest I don't think the Ouija board has anything to do with those suicides and people going crazy. This happens all the time to people who has never seen an Ouija board. It can be that if someone has latent mental issues the board can act as a trigger, but the world is full of people listening to voices from nowhere. There are even some Napoleons around. Having said that I liked this hub, so I'll read the others. I like your way of writing and even if a lot of supernatural things are due to the mind of people I think we have a soul, or better as C.S. Lewis said that we are a soul who has a body, so who knows? I'm just basically skeptic. :)

  2. i played with the ouija board no more than four times and they have been intense, real, and just plain scary. My last encounter with the game, i asked it how i would die, and interestingly it spelled out "suicide", not to mention that i'm clinically depressed, and tried commiting suicide more than 3 times on my wrist. Then i asked it in what way, it spelled "cut", ironically, then my final question, i asked it at what age would i die at, it spelled out "19", i'm 16 at the moment, and i dread the day my 19th birthday comes. My therapist described it as my mind enforcing these words into the game, knowing my condition, but it doesn't seem likely. I felt a force that was unnatural, evil, lingering in my room. It's been that way since the day i started playing with it. I don't know what to believe, but all that i can see. Seeing is believeing.

  4. Hey, Cleoify/mrs.kane, if you haven't spoken to a Doctor or your parents about this then I suggest that you do. Ouija boards can be dangerous in many different ways and psychological trauma is probably the most dangerous of all.

Should your experiences be genuine as you say that they are then I believe that the following is all that you need to know:

'He is a liar. The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, and powerful. So don't listen to him. Remember that - do not listen.'

Your future is yours to decide.

    Take good care.

  5. i was wondering whether to play ouija board but as i am only 14 its kind of a hard decision and my mum played it once when she was 15 and she got rid of it by wearing a cross (of god) because it was still bothering her. But some people say you have to be gifted well im not sure if i am or not as when i was little i saw dead family members which had never been mentioned before and when i was little medians (or however you spell them) used to come up to me and say shes been here before, but lots of them used to do it, everywhere. and i could predict the futre and i can still see figures now.... as in my house there a dark figures (like shadows) on my stairs, crouching and i was thinking of contacting them but im not suicidle at all but i am afraid of them taking over my life but i would really like to talk to them and maybe even become friends (well kinda) if thats possible and see what happend and why there still here and maybe even help them, also the man who wrote all the facts and stories up there says he's never seen/heard of a single good spirit come out of the ouija board and knowing my luck it'll be the baddest spirit around :S

so if you have any comments or hints, facts and whatever..

    please comment back :) x

  6. I think these comments already posted sum up that a Ouija in the wrong hand can create problems.

Mums and Dads use commonsense its not a game, its not for the clinically depressed, its not necessarily a tool to predict the future but a tool to help answers lifes questions. Asking anyone alive or dead when you are going to die will result in a suitable answer and comment back.

Stupid question expect a stupid answer.Dont consult a Ouija for this see a medical profession.!

  7. yo! i've never played with an ouija game before but from the stories i've read, i wouldn't advise anyone to mess around with that because what good can come from it? Why is that game even being sold just like that? I love horror movies n stuff but the thought of spirits and demonic possession becoming part of my life.....no thanx!!!

    1. I have never believed in such things and have played with the board many times. I think your imagination expects something to happen. I'm not saying maybe a few people may have took it too far because i believe in God so obviously I believe in Satan but I have my faith and i dont think anything much could come of it..I like reading your blogs as well.

    2. No offence but if you believed in God, wouldn't you do the smart thing and NOT mess with such things? Just a thought.

  10. When I was in high school (some fifteen years ago) my friends and I would get together about three times a week to play oija. Even though we were young and stupid and didn't know what we were doing, we did have a good time and laughed a lot. We stopped once things started to get ugly though. One spirit who gave us his name and who I won't repeat, began to communicate through the oija every night because according to him I looked exactly like the daughter he once had and who had died before he did. He seemed desperate and a bit obsessed with me, so I decided to leave it alone. To make things worst, one of the kids who played with us went crazy one night after we had left and as if becoming possessed, he tried to stab his mother with a knife. He was sent for psychiatric treatment and was never the same after that.

I think that the oija is not responsible for suicides or murders, but it can definately mess with your head. It's the same thing as people who use tarot cards to find out their destiny, if they tell you that you will get sick soon, trust me... you will! Just because your mind is set for that to happen.

I don't recommend the oija. It can be very dangerous and there is absolutely no point to it. If you want to communicate with spirits, you just have to learn how to talk to them without it. There are many ways.

  11. oujie boards can cause mental problems, but it's "fun" some people say. If you ask me.... you should play if you want, i do this, then when your done rip the board as many times as you can.... then burn the board after using it. That closes the door to the underworld you opened and stops the "evil" spirts from escaping..... Before you do a oujie board please do the reserch and be wize about it

Her mum was no were near the candles but her stool caught on fire and her friends sleeve caught on fire also. Apparently the fire 'jumped'.I have had my own bad experiences with them. Just be careful and know what you are messing with.

  16. Oook I'm jus looking at this stuff to see if I should buy one and from all these stories I guess what I see and hear are the smallest and most harmless things known and well this comment is @kaylabranston I am partly gifted I see lightly out lined figures and I can choose to talk to them if I want to and I have the choice of seeing them and for now I can't control that I too am 14 and I recommend you do not use one I repeat DO NOT ever use one I've had some pretty freak experiences myself let alone without a board I have never touched a board and when you see one of these figures you should look directly at it and say hello out loud in my old house before this one I always kept a mirror in my room and nothing ever came in because spirits don't like mirrors well it's hard to explain my first encounter in that house was everyone was jus sitting around playing with a ball and I was walking around the house with my little sister and I went in my moms room to play with her and she ran out screaming I thought it was cute until I seen the figure in the corner my eyes widened and I covered my mouth so I wouldn't scream when I got use to seeing the figure I said hello? I heard a faint voice whispering it was a little girl she said hi my names alexie I then clmed down and was still shaking I asked how old she was and she told me she was 7 1/2 I said well it's nice to meet you alexie and she had a question for me she asked do you know where my mommy and big sissy is we where gonna go play dollies I told her I didn't kno where her mom was and I asked her what happened she said what do you mean I've been waiting for my mommy and sissy to come

Home and she laughed by then I felt tears running down my cheeks my mom was watching my the whole time and I said to alexie I'm so sorry but I don't think your mommy and sissy are coming back and please can you go there's nothing else I can do for you she finally said that's fine I still got daddy with me....and then she was gone an I barely seen her ever again the only time I seen her again was when I was moving out I don't know what she looks like but I was sure she was a little girl when I was sitting on my front steps waiting for my mom to come get me she talked to me one last time before I left she said to me thank you you have been just like a big sissy to me and she left and I her an old male voice faintly say thank you angel...that really freaked me out I ran to my moms car quicker than I've ever ran before my mom said I looked frighten and my sister Lynn told me she seen a little girl in the front yard playing with the grass from what my sister told me she had on a skirt a regular t-shirt and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail that left me shocked and scared and I barely talk to spirits anymore since alexie my sister Lynn says she can see people everything all I see is outlined figures and frm what I see for me I can see spirits and I can make them go away the ones I see are harmless but still spooky I will never for get the 7 1/2 year old alexie she sounded so cute and that leaves me wondering how she died an that I will

Never know since I'm not going back to that house again atleast I don't think

  18. this is a responce to c.j. You should NEVER burn a Ouija board. Its is EXTREAMLY bad luck. I have been using Ouija boards for about 5 years now very activly (about 1-5 times a week) I have had some creepy experiences (spirts knowing personal information, ect..) But never had I had a 'bad' experience. All I have to say is that it is not a joke, dont take what any spirt has to say to heart. But DO NOT try to get them going or be rude.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I like this post as it, in my opinion, relates information without making judgements.

I used a orija board only one time in my life. I was 14 and more than a little wild. I had a handfull of freinds with me and the night was going well before I pulled out the board which belonged to my mother. Mind you at the time I thought it to be only a game, really.

I will not go into details about what I saw... yes, I do mean saw and not just heard. Suffice to say I threw into a dumpster that board that was not even mine and have never again allowed one to be in any house I have lived in. I would not recommend using one to anyone for any reason as you have little or no control over what may decide to communicate with you.

I do not mean to sound judgemental here though I realize that I do. I like most things occult including but not limited to tarot cards, reading tea leaves, dream interpretation and so forth, but, having said that... at the risk of sounding judgemental, be careful if you do decide to work a board for you may not like or be able to direct or control what you reach.

  21. My friend Robert and I (Joshua) are at my moms friends cabin by a lake in Alaska and we found a ouija board and Plan on using it. I have had three friends research about it and then we came across this hub. We looked up rules and what not to do. Robert is crazy and wants to try to call it out in a small room. In this room is going to be a lit candle and an empty 12 Gage shotgun. I am a wus and am kind of creeped out and want to try it outside in the daylight. But we are hoping for he best and advise others with a curious mind to use EXTREAM percasion. If u want to add my friend Robert and tell not to be crazy here is his e mail wardrobert79@yahoo.com on my space would be the best.

  23. Useing an ouija bord is like shooting a hole in the bottom of a boat, you've gota get to port quick, and your only port is Jesus, if you use them alot and get results but seemingly no effects you have either sold your soul to the devil or have a very devious spirit coming through that seem's ok but will show it's self eventually, 99% of the time you will get nothing, 1% of the time you do get something it's a demon plain and simple.

Ouija bords weaken the spirit and eventualy steel it, the Devil's a real joker with a serious side and he laugh's every time someone dabbles.

If someone said to you thet's play a game.....you cut your finger off and give it to me, and tomorow you cut a toe off and give that to me....... would you call that a game, cos thats what you are doing to your spirit and soul every time you use it.

If anyone wants more info on this subject address a question to me, we have a 300 year old ouija bord in our family that none of us will touch, but our ancestors did.....alot....

Jesus is the only way amen.

  24. Ok I can give you all the evidence in the world, but the board is a portal.

If you have a board BURN IT.

    Get rid of it.

For the love of God, get it out of your house.

If you use it you can get possessed, but you can also let things in.

Currently my fiancee and my best friend tried contacting one of their relatives that committed suicide and in doing so brought a demon into our home.

Like I said get it out of your house, burn it, or just destroy it.

If you let something in I suggest you go see a priest... NOW... Catholic if you can stand to enter one because they have better knowledge on the subject then any other one.

  25. I've played with the ouija board on multiple occasions and still do to this day. I have never had an instance where evil things have followed me. Nevertheless, that isn't to say I haven't spoken to evil spirits. Each time they say they're good, but there's never that guarentee.

my advice to anyone that wants to play with the ouija board is to pray before and after you're done playing with it.

also, don't ask it any questions that will leave you with paranoia such as "when will i die?" because chances are you're going to freak out over nothing.

the future is not set in stone, thus if you don't like your answers, you can change them. it's up to you, not the ouija board. Everytime i play that game I ask it who I will get married to, and it changes everytime. again, the future is not set in stone.

in conclusion, be careful when playing it, do not play with skeptics, and don't ask stupid questions.

  27. My fiance and I are both very interested in the paranormal. We even talked about starting our own Ghost hunting team one day, but we don't have time to do that although it would be fun. We watch alot of shows like ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, ALL those shows! We even do some of our own EVP work. Well being that said yesterday we went to the store to pick up our costumes and my fiance picked up an Ouija Board and said lets get it..... So we did! We have never seen a real one before, (we have made one though) MY QUESTION IS??!?!?!??!?!?! When we made our own sometimes last year, the board kept telling us QD QD QD QD QD. Last night we used it, asked simple Q's like is anyone here ect... Also I asked in my head NOT ALOUD what is my favorite color, and it said pink........... I decided to ask one more question then put it up and it started the QD QD QD QD QD thing AGAIN! We kept saying Goodbye and it forcfully kept scrolling to NO till we pushed it to goodbye and put the board up! Can anyone tell me what QD means or find any research on it? Please. Also things happen in our apartment, ever since we moved here. My fiance was working on night shift which was SCARY and took some getting use to now he is on second shift thank God! Cabinent doors would close when I was in the bathroom, A bucket fell off the top shelf in the bathroom and almost hit my fiance, something went CRASH in the kitchen while a neighbor was here and later i found out it was a apple decorated tea pot that my mother game me..... how it happened i have no idea! All this happened BEFORE we used the ouija board here. We've been living in our apartment since march, things have calmed down a bit but the bucket falling happened last weekend when we was tiling our bathroom which we are remodeling. We get orbs, and not usual orbs but freaky ones in our pics all the time, not just of ones that i take of the apartment but ones we take of our selves...... they will be white round orbs BUT will have a blue light all around them like some sort of electricity ??...... back to my questions QD, anyone know what that means?

  28. Well from A Buddhist perspective, Spirits are beings who are in the lower realms. They are there due to Karma (bad Karma) . If you start making deals and relations with them you are linking yourself to them.

You shouldn't get into this unwholesome activity, it is not at all spiritual . Such beings in the spirit realm should be an object of your compassion , most are suffering greatly themselves and while they have clairvoaynce they will lie to you.

  29. DO NOT PLAY THE OUIJA BOARD. for physocological reasons it gives more harm as it is something supernatural and causing harm. the ouija board seems very dangerous in what i have read. those are spirits do not meddle. they are beings but u should not get them. do not do it for enjoyment as well. it seems to have risks. do not ask questions which are useless for eg how will i die? either the spirit meddles with u. but i have read in a very fascinating but supporting the good side book to love each other. it does not talk about ouija boards but it says that we are commit suiciding by believing that we will die some day. we are immortal inside of us and in our mind we should never die(but this does not interfere with karma~you have to be a good person) we as a soul live forever and ever and we can live as an immortal as long as we are striving to be pure. you have been forced to believe (not directly but because not every person knows) that u will die someday. this is what the spirits in the ouija board are maybe telling.

still like calamancini said it might bring spirits which might not be the best choice.

  30. I just had my first hand encounter with a Ouija board only last week. I went to a show in New York City and in the theater there was a Ouija Board. After the show was over, me and two of the actors decided to use it. The night before they both had gotten a hold of a spirit by the name, A-E-L. They also found out she was six. When I was there we discovered that she had died in a fire in 1756!! I asked the question, "Is it okay for me to be here?" (Since I wasn't there the night before) She said, "Yes." I felt the need to ask because I too am a young girl. When I asked, it was almost like the spirit was eager to answer. This spirit I believe was not bad. We asked how we could help. She responded with, "P-R-I-E-S-T" We said, "what for?" She replied,"B-L-E-S-S" I was shaking in fear but at the same time it was so cool. We (me and the two others) repeated the prayer of, Our Father. We asked A-E-L if that was good enough. Then she replied "yes" then "goodbye". No paranormal activity has happened to me and I sense no evil surrounding me. I'm NOT saying to go ahead and play with one, you can contact/ bring in evil spirits so be careful. What I was told to do before was to put good thoughts into my head and think positively. I used to not believe in any of this, but now I'm agnostic. It was the most frightening but yet amazing thing that has EVER happened to me. BUT BE CAREFUL.

  38. Me and my friend Chloe have played the Ouija board, once. We made one. But before we played, we said 2 prayers. One to God, then we said the St. Michael the arch angel prayer. After that, we started playing. Once he answered, we asked more questions. Just a few tips:

    1. Don't ask it these things:

*don't ask about God* *Don't ask it "when will I die"* and don't ask it "wherre is the gold buried"

    2. NEVER BURN IT!! I read that you have to sprinkle Holy Water on it then bury it.

    3. When you get a bad spirit, Don't just take your fingers off of it, say "good-bye" over and over again until it moves to good-bye.

    4. Be polite. Don't upset the spirit.

Make sure you look things up on the internet. Don't just look at one, look at many. It helps for rules and more tips.

  43. I am 12 and have used a ouija board about 15 times. I'm warning you please don't do it. It is black magic and has scared the he'll out of me. Please don't make the mistake I did and do one. You could put yourself and loved ones in deep danger. Try doing some white magic protection spells they might help. Thanks XX please take my advice.

  47. If you use a Ouija board there are things you have to do first. Before you start the session sit in a circle, hold hands then say "let there be no evil forces or demons." Note that this is not a fool proof method of protecting yourself.

You can say a short prayer before you begin for protection.

Use a single white candle; white in witchcraft is used for protection and purity; even though black is used for energy; black is also used for dark, evil, and black magic.

Also, always close your sessions by moving the planchette to the "goodbye". If you do not do this, the portal you created using the board will still be open after you leave! NEVER ask the spirits to prove its existence. To prevent evil spirits coming to the board, begin and end a session with a prayer. And NEVER burn the board! One of the most highly regarded methods for disposing of a Ouija board is to cut the Ouija board into seven pieces and to bury the pieces in the ground. Use your brain when playing with the board. Despite the way it's sold, it is not a toy.

  56. All these comments are great, so strange how most of them are from kids 11 and up its scary cause I'm 25 and I want to try it and probably will but what do these children know about Demons and the harm and havoc they can cause. Can't believe they sell it as a toy nowadays quite shocking cause iets everything but.

Its awesome to read about others experiences!!!

  57. I have a few rules that I live by and one of the top three is; that I don't mess with things that than can kill me that I can't see coming...Electricity, the business end of a firearm and spirits. So far that rule has worked out pretty darn good

  58. Ouija boards are not to be messed with. over the years i have read many stories about people being possesed or just having things follow them around. there is also stories of people whom have played with the witchboard and have commited crimes. there is really no explanation for what happens to people when dabbling with things that we dont understand. i like the part when people say what are the rules to these games that are played mainly with ignorance. ok on the internet we find the rules to play the witchboard but what we dont find are solutions to problems that are brought on by playing this game. do the dude a favor read everything you can find on here and other sites believe me there are many and if you feel confident that you can handle anything this board may throw at you then i would say knock yourself out.On the other hand if you dont think you can then dont dabble you may not like what you find on the other side. Take it from me i know i have dabbled and found out the hard way.I may Tell you the story sometime but i wont put you off for now. Happy Hunting but dont look too hard.
